Full course: 2 Days face to face training & assessment  $160.00 (GST Free)

Flexible learning option: Theory on-line, work book to be completed in advance, and 1 day practical face to face training & assessment $120.00 (GST Free)

Refresher:  1 Day $80.00

Price includes professional instruction, course materials, First Aid manual and certification.



The course covers

This course provides participants with the knowledge and skills needed to manage emergency First Aid situations and deliver competent emergency care until the arrival of professional medical support. Once completed, participants will obtain a First Aid certificate that's valid for three years. The course aligns to the National Guideline Standards for First Aid and meets Nt Worksafe standards.

  • The principles of First Aid and its application
  • Recognition and management of emergency situations
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation
  • Treatment of shock, infection, fractures, bleeding and burns
  • Emergencies due to lack of oxygen, excess heat or cold
  • Recognition and management of medical conditions that may need emergency care, including heart attack, stroke, asthma, diabetes and epilepsy
  • Management of common medical emergencies
  • Treatment of poisoning including venomous bites and stings

Pre-requisite

The minimum age requirement is 15 years of age.

Accreditation

After successfully completing the training, participants will obtain a nationally accredited Statement of Attainment and SLSNT Senior First Aid Certificate in the following units of competence:

  • HLTCPR201A Perform CPR
  • HLTFA201A Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
  • HLTFA301B Apply First Aid

Validity

Senior First Aid is valid for 3 years. It is a recommendation of the Australian Resuscitation Council that the CPR component is updated every 12 months.
