This year the 2017 Sea Swift NT SLS Championships are being hosted by Gove Peninsula Surf Life Saving Club. Beach, surf boat and ocean events will be running for all age groups (U8 - 35+).
About 120 athletes from Darwin, Mindil Beach, Ellis Beach and Gove Peninsula Surf Life Saving Clubs are expected to compete.
Clubs will be fighting it out for the Club Champion trophy, as well as individual champion club trophies in Beach, Ocean and Surf Boat!
As always the TJ Tilley memorial trophy will be awarded to the junior who best displays the spirit of the carnival.
Gove Surf Club will be open from 4.30pm Friday night and everyone is invited for a get together, a few drinks and a meal, so come on down and enjoy the sunset.
Saturday night will be huge with live music, food stalls, a jumping castle, a traditional bunggul (absolutely not to be missed) and flags under lights in our purpose built arena, complete with grandstands.
This event is going to rival the upcoming Commonwealth Games next year on the Gold Coast!!
Good luck to all competitors. Cant wait to see you all on the beach.
