Aspiring lifeguards must be:

  • at least 16 years of age,

Lifeguard Training Program

SLSNT Lifeguards are a highly trained team. We developed the Lifeguard Training Program to ensure we get the right people in our team. Our preference is always to hire someone with a great attitude and potential regardless of their training status. The Lifeguard Training Program includes the Trainee and Bronze stages of the SLSNT Pathway and takes approx. 6 weeks to complete.

At the completion of our Lifeguard Training Program, successful applicants will hold the following nationally recognised qualifications:

  • SLS Bronze Medallion/Certificate II in Public Safety (Aquatic Rescue).
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • Advanced Resuscitation Techniques.
  • Spinal Management Certificate.
  • Pool Lifeguard Certificate.

Most importantly, once all training has been completed, Trainee Lifeguards are fully qualified to work as a Lifeguard with SLSNT across most of our locations. Further training is available for those interested in expanding their knowledge.

If you hold some or all of these qualifications, please still apply as we can tailor our training to suit.
