SLSNT is looking for a dynamic and innovative professional to lead a small team to deliver the core operational activities of SLSNT. 

The Operations Manager will need to collaborate with stakeholders to advance core programs and services in lifesaving, surf sports and development. This includes the delivery and operation of the SLSNT Search and Rescue team, a 24/7 rescue service for recreational boat users from Dundee to Tiwi to Point Stuart. 

The position is full-time, and fixed term through to 30 June 2024. 

Selection Criteria

The successful applicant will: 

• Be able to pass a criminal history check, gain an NT Ochre Card and hold a current open drivers’ licence.
• Be fully vaccinated with the appropriate number of doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccine.
• Possess highly effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively advise, consult and negotiate.
• Able to work constructively with a wide range of stakeholders, including volunteers and senior emergency service personnel.
• Able to lead a small team of employees and volunteers to achieve strategic and operational goals.
• Solution orientated and ability to bring a high level of maturity and judgement to the role.
• Be self-motivated and show initiative in developing practical new ideas and approaches.
• Be willing and able to work flexible hours, including after hours and weekends.
