Westpac has been proudly partnering with Surf Life Saving Australia (SLSA) for more than four decades since the inception of the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter Service (WLRHS) in 1973. It is one of the longest corporate community partnerships in Australia.  

The WLRHS is a vital extension of SLSA’s front line services operating in Southern NSW, QLD, VIC, WA, SA and a rescue boat in the NT. The national operation also incorporates the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Northern NSW and Tasmanian Services.

Over 300 rescue professionals and volunteers make up the national operation, which has 15 helicopters and one rescue boat across 13 bases. During summer, the Service covers over 84% of the Australian population and to date, the WLRHS has performed more than 100,000 missions across Australia, with no one ever having to pay to be rescued. Visit Website
