Recognising service across Surf Life Saving
Surf lifesaving relies on the dedication of volunteers, members and clubs who give their time, skills and energy to support safer beaches and stronger communities.
Surf Life Saving Northern Territory encourages clubs to recognise members throughout the season through a range of awards and recognition opportunities.
These awards celebrate contribution across all areas of surf lifesaving, including lifesaving, education, surf sports, rescue, administration, leadership and volunteering.

NT Awards of Excellence
The SLSNT Awards of Excellence recognise members who have made an outstanding contribution to the delivery and development of surf lifesaving activities in the Northern Territory each year.
Nominations are called for annually by circular. A number of SLSNT award winners may go on to represent the Northern Territory at the Surf Life Saving Australia Awards of Excellence.
Administrator’s Medal
The Administrator’s Medal for Outstanding Service to Surf Life Saving in the Northern Territory recognises exceptional service and contribution to surf lifesaving in the Territory.
The medal was first awarded in 2014 and is a cherished legacy of the patronage of former Administrator, Her Honour the Honourable Sally Thomas AM.
Past recipients include members from Darwin Surf Life Saving Club and Gove Peninsula Surf Life Saving Club who have made significant contributions through patrols, training, leadership, surf sports, administration and club development.
Life Membership
Life Membership is the highest honour Surf Life Saving Northern Territory can bestow. It recognises longstanding and valued service to surf lifesaving in the Northern Territory.
SLSNT Life Members include members who have made significant contributions to their clubs, the Territory and the broader surf life saving movement.
