Youth Program

How to get involved

Surf Life Saving NT  plays a key role in the community and has leadership programs for all ages. The aim of SLSNT’s Youth Program is to engage, enthuse, and educate all graduating Nippers and new youth members, regardless of their ability in any surf sport discipline, and aid the retention and development of members. 


For our youth (U14-U17) we aim to provide a safe and supportive environment in which young people can grow and develop into not only better surf lifesavers, but also contributors to their local communities. 

The youth of Surf Life Saving are not only the key to our future but in many cases are leading the way now. With over nearly half of our national membership under the age of 18, they are critical to all aspects of surf lifesaving. While enjoying the beach lifestyle you:

  • Patrols & Prevention

    We create safer environments through beach patrols and proactive safety measures, helping to prevent incidents before they occur.

  • Marine Search & Rescue

    Our 24/7 Marine Search & Rescue Team is operated by volunteers and supported by a fleet of rescue watercraft, providing assistance across the greater Darwin region.

  • Training & Education

    Through the Australian Lifesaving Academy, we deliver accredited lifesaving and first aid training, customised to meet the needs of individuals, organisations, and industry.

  • Lifeguard Services

    Through the Australian Lifeguard Service, we provide professional lifeguard coverage at aquatic venues across Darwin, as well as first aid support at events.
