Our Clubs

There is a role in Surf Lifesaving for everyone

Across the Territory these icons aren’t unknown faces on our beaches, they’re ordinary people, who have extraordinary weekends.

They make your coffee, go to your school, teach your children, build your houses and work in your office.

And they want you to join them, memberships are open at your local Surf Life Saving Club and there’s a role for everyone. With training, a great atmosphere and a whole crew of ready-made mates included, the only question left is, are you ready to rock the red and yellow?

DSLSC currently has over 300 members ranging from Nippers to Life Members with the clubhouse located on Daribah Road in the Casuarina Coastal Reserve.

The bar and clubhouse are open on Friday and Sunday evenings from 5pm, and the venue is also available for function hire on Saturday nights.

Founded in 1996 as Arafura Life Saving Club, the club originally patrolled East Point and nearby Lake Alexander. It later briefly operated from Cullen Bay before settling at the popular Mindil Beach on the southern end of Fannie Bay.

On 14 March 2008, the club officially changed its name to Mindil Beach Surf Life Saving Club.

Today, the club operates from a base at East Point and provides patrols at East Point Beach and Lake Alexander from June - September.
