Surf lifesaving relies on the efforts of our members to maintain a strong, inclusive and valuable movement. Each year, we endeavour to ensure everyone is recognised for their invaluable voluntary service to the community through our Member Recognition program, including the Awards of Excellence.
SLSNT values the contributions made by our members and we encourage clubs to proactively recognise their members throughout the season by using the range of recognition awards available. The recognition framework include awards for all aspects of surf lifesaving including rescue, sport and volunteers. Some examples include:

The SLSNT Awards of Excellence recognise and reward members who have made an outstanding contribution to the delivery and development of surf lifesaving activities in the NT each calendar year.

A number of award winners will go on to represent the NT at the national annual Surf Life Saving Australia Awards of Excellence.
This award is a cherished legacy of the patronage of the former Administrator, Her Honour the honourable Sally Thomas AM. The award was first presented in 2014 and has been presented a total of four times. Read more about the Administrator's Award here.
Life Membership of Surf Life Saving NT is awarded to members who have displayed distinguished or special voluntary service to a Club, Surf Life Saving NT, or Surf Life Saving Australia over a period of at least ten years. Surf Life Saving Australia has over 100 life members, view the list of Northern Territorian Life Members.
Each year, Surf Life Saving Australia recognises the nation’s top surf lifesavers for their dedication and commitment to their communities at their National Awards of Excellence. The Surf Life Saving Australia Hall of Fame commemorates and recognises members and teams who have achieved outstanding accomplishments and exceptional contributions to the development of surf lifesaving. Inductees into the Hall of Fame are recognised in one of three categories, surf life saving, surf life saving administration or surf life saving sport.
