We provide training for pool lifeguards throughout the Top End, teaching participants practical skills and equipping them with the knowledge to keep patrons safe. Surf Life Saving NT's strong and experienced team has been delivering industry-leading pool lifeguard training courses for the past seven years.
Our accredited Pool Lifeguard courses are for people who have responsibility for the supervision and safety of people in and around swimming pools including those involved in aquatic exercise‚ swim coaching and aquatic excursions.
To participate in this course you must be over 16 years of age and have completed HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid certificate.
Once you have successfully completed our training, you will be issued a statement of attainment with the following units of competency:
Pool Lifeguard Skill Set SISSS00133
HLTAID011 Provide first aid (course prerequisite)
SISCAQU019 Supervise patron safety in aquatic locations
SISCAQU020 Perform water rescues
SISCAQU021 Perform complex water rescues
SISCAQU022 Provide oxygen resuscitation and therapy in an aquatic environment
Industry guidelines recommend your qualification be updated annually.
Surf Life Saving NT delivers nationally accredited training through an agreement with Surf Life Saving SA. What does this mean for me?
Surf Life Saving SA is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), RTO Code 40110.
